Rubbermaterialpropertiesandusefullifeevaluationareveryimportantindesignproceduretoassurethesafetyandreliabilityoftherubbercomponents.Inthispaper,theevaluationofcharacteristicsandusefullifetimepredictionofrubbercomponentforelevatorcabinwereexperimentallyinvestigated.Thematerialtestandacceleratedheat-agingtestwerecarried.Rubbermaterialcoefficientwasobtainedbycurvefittingsofuniaxialtension,pureshearandequi-biaxialtensiontestdata.HeatagingtestresultschangesasthethresholdareusedforassessmentoftheusefullifeandtimetothresholdvaluewereplottedagainstreciprocalofabsolutetemperaturetogivetheArrheniusplot.Byusingtherubbermaterialandcomponenttestseveralusefullifepredictionequationsforrubbercomponentwereproposed.Predictedusefullifeofrubbercomponentforelevatorcabinagreedfairlywiththeexperimentallives.
