Thin-wallinjectionmolding(TWIM),whichisdevelopingrapidlybasedonConventionalInjectionMolding(CIM),hasbecomeanimportantmanufacturingtechnologyfor3Cplasticindustry.Inordertoimplementingthin-wallpartinjectionmolding,injectionmoldingmachineshavetobeequippedwithahydraulicaccumulatorsystemtofillsuchthin-wallcavities.Asaresult,thecontrollabilityofthehydraulicsystembecomescritical.Inaddition,becauseofhighscrewadvancespeed,theinertiacannotbeignoredandscrewwillvibrateaboutitsfixingposition.Anewtypeofinjectionsystemwithaquickresponseinjectionsystembasedongiantmagnetostrictivematerials(GMM)isproposedinthispaper.Theinjectionsystemiscapableofimplementingthin-wallinjectionmoldingthroughcontrollingportwidthofnozzle,meanwhile,meltswithsufficientpre-compresspotentialenergyandconstantinjectionmolding.Theinfluenceofnozzleportopeningwidthparameterinforeside-controlhighspeedinjectionmoldingofthin-wallproductsoninjectionspeedunderdifferentpre-compressandinjectionpressureswasinvestigatedinthispaper.Variationsofthepercentageoffillingareawhichusedforevaluatingthemeltfrontadvancespeedwithnozzleportopeningwidthundervarioushydraulicpressurewasexplored.Theresultsobtainedfromthisstudyaresignificantinestablishmentofcontroltheoryforforeside-controlhighspeedinjectionmolding.
