Microbialcontaminationofpolymericmaterialsplaysanimportantroleinthetransmissionofinfectiousdiseases.1-6Studieshaveshownthatmicroorganismshavestrongabilitiestosurviveonordinarypolymericmaterials,andsomespeciescanstayaliveonvariouspolymersformorethan90days.3,4Thecontaminatedpolymericmaterialscouldserveasimportantsourcesofcross-infections,causingavarietyofseriousconsequencesinmedicaldevices,hospitalequipment,waterpurificationanddeliverysystems,bio-protectiveequipment,etc.3-6Inresponsetothemicrobialchallenges,thedevelopmentofantimicrobialpolymers,polymersthatcaneffectivelyinhibitthegrowthofmicroorganisms,hasattractedconsiderableresearchinterests.Todate,anumberofantimicrobialpolymericmaterialshavebeendeveloped；someofthesestudieshaveachievedverypromisingresults.7-11
