Inthispaper,westudiedtheeffectofinitialspherulitesizeofpolypropylene(PP)onmechanicalproperties,whichweremoldedbypressure-induced-flow(PIF)processing.AlteringthespherulitesizeofPPbyaddingvariouscontentsofTalc(nano-scaled).Itisindicatedbyobservationofpolarizingopticalmicroscope(POM)thatthespherulitesizeofPPchangesfrom58μm(forpurePP)toabout30μm,24μm,20μm(forPPwith0.1,1,5wt.%ofnucleatingagent).TheimpactandtensilestrengthofPPweresignificantlyimprovedafterthePIF-processing,andPPwith0.1wt.%ofnucleatingagentpresentsthebestmechanicalproperties.DatasshowthatsampleswithdifferentcontentsofnucleatingagenthavesomeeffectsinmechanicalpropertiesbutunconspicuousforbothunprocessedandPIF-processingsamples.
