Numericalsimulationofthehigh-speedfiberspinningprocesswascarriedoutusingPolyflowsoftware,basedonthemodelsproposedbyDoufasetal.Calculationpredictsnotonlythevariationofparametersalongthespinline,butalsotheradiallydistributionofflowfieldvariables,suchastemperature,crystallinityandmolecularstructure.Consideringcombinedeffectsontheprocesssuchasflow-inducedcrystallization,viscoelasticity,filamentcooling,airdrag,inertia,surfacetensionandgravity,thesimulatedmaterialflowbehaviorsareconsistentwiththatobservedforsemi-crystallinepolymerundervariousspinningconditions.Thestructurechangeofpolymercoilsintheneckingregiondescribedbytheevolutionofconformationtensorisalsoinvestigated.Moreover,three-dimensional(3D)simulationapproachwasalsousedtopredictthefibershapegiventhespinneretgeometry,combinedwiththediedesigncapability.Itishelpfultodesigndiegeometryforgeneratingfiberswithcomplexcross-sections.
