Anovelcatalyticsystemtopreparebranchedpolyethyleneusingsinglecatalystactivatedwithdifferenttwoco-catalystsisreportedinthispaperviathetandemcatalysis,ethyleneassinglemonomer.Suchcatalyticsystemiscomposedofb-diketonatezirconiumcomplexes,i.e.(acac)2ZrCl2(I),(dbm)2ZrCl2(II),and(bfa)2ZrCl2(III)ascatalystprecursors,diethylaluminiumchloride(AlEt2Cl)asaco-catalystforethyleneoligomerizationandmethylaluminoxane(MAO)asanotheroneforcopolymerizationwithethylene.ThebranchedpolyethylenewaspreparedbythetandemcatalyticsystemsuchasI(orII,III)/AlEt2Cl/MAO.13C-NMRspectrumrevealedthattheresultantcopolymerwasbranchedpolyethylene.Theresultsindicatethatthebranchedpolyethylenecanbeobtainedbysuchcatalyticsystem.
