Using Two Simple Methods of Ar-ArF Self-Assembly and Isolation Chromophores to Further Improve the Comprehensive Performance of NLO Dendrimers**
Herein, through a combinationof divergent and convergent approaches,coupled with the utilizationof the powerful Sharpless “click chemistry”reaction, two series of high-generationnonlinear optical (NLO) dendrimershave been conveniently preparedin high purity and satisfactoryyields. Perfluoroaromatic rings and isolationchromophores were introducedto further improve their comprehensiveperformance. Thanks to the effects ofArArF self-assembly and the isolationchromophores, coupled with perfect3D spatial isolation from the highlybranched structure of the dendrimer,G5-PFPh-NS displayed very largeNLO efficiency (up to 257 pmV1),which is, to the best of our knowledge,the new record highest value reportedso far for simple azo chromophoremoieties. High-quality wide opticaltransparency and good stability werealso achieved.
