We report on the regulation of a photorefractive (PR) surface soliton theoretically and experimentally. The size andtrajectory of a PR surface soliton can be modulated by launch position, applied external electric field, and relative light intensity. This offers a means to manipulate optical beams. A PR surface soliton with a sizeas small as 3 μm is achieved. Under proper conditions a straightly propagating surface PR surface soliton canbe induced.
