We demonstrate highly efficient white polymer light-emitting devices with 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) and iridium(III) bis(4,6-di-fluorophenyl)-pyridinato-N,C2) picolinate (FIrpic) doped into a PVK/PBD host. In these devices, FIrpic functions as both the blue emitter and the phosphorescent sensitizer, which convert the triplet exciton into a singlet exciton during the energy transfer process. The chromaticity of white emission could be tuned by adjusting the concentrations of FIrpic and DCJTB. Optimized devices exhibited peak external quantum efficiency of 2.7%, which is even higher than that of the 'reference' device doped with the phosphor only.
