Wettabilityhasbeenrecognizedasoneofthemostimportantpropertiesoffibrousmaterialsforbothfundamentalandpracticalapplications.Inthisstudy,theplasmainducedgraftingofacrylicacid(AAc)wasappliedtoimprovethewettabilityoftheelectrospunpoly(vinylidenefluoride)(PVDF)nanofibermembranes.ThediameterandchemicalstructureofthemodifiedPVDFnanofiberswerecharacterizedbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)andFouriertransforminfrared(FTIR).NitrogenadsorptionbasedonBET(Brunauer,EmmettandTeller)principlewasemployedtomeasurethespecificsurfaceareasandporositiesofthemodifiednanofibermembranes.Thecontactanglesofthemodifiedmembranewereevaluatedbydropshapeanalysis(DSA)andthemodifiedWashbummethod.Thedependenceofcontactanglesonspecificsurfaceareaandporositywasalsodiscussedinthis paper.Wateradsorptionswereusedtoevaluatethedynamicwettingbehaviorofthegraftedmembranesbyadynamicadsorptionapparatus(CDCA100-F).TheexperimentalresultsrevealedthatthewettablityofthemodifiedPVDFmembranewassignificantlyaffectedbybothsurfaceandporouscontactangles.
