Hydrophilicpoly(vinylidenefluoride)(PVDF)ultrafinefiberporousmembraneswerepreparedbyelectrospinningPVDF/poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)/tetraethoxysilane(TOES)fromthemixedsolventsofN,N-dimethylformamideandacetone.TheaspreparedelectrospunPVDFhybridmembraneswerechemicalpost-treatedinhydrochloricacid(HCl).TheTEOSwithinthehybridmembraneswashydrolyzedandpolymerizedintoSiO2gels.FT-IRspectrarevealedthatSi-O-SibondsandSi-OHbondsexistsonthesurfaceofhybridmembrane.Thewatercontactangle(CA)analysisindicatedthegreatchangesofhydrophilicitybetweenpurePVDFmembranesandchemicalpost-treatedPVDFhybridmembranesfromsuperhydrophobicity(151°)tosuperhydrophilicity(0°).TheSEMimagesshowedmicroporousstructuresonthesurfaceofelectrospunPVDFfibers.
