Wefacilelyfabricatedaseriesofmixed-shellmicelles(MSMs)underspontaneouslyself-assemblyofblockcopolymerspoly(ethyleneglycol)-b-poly(L-lysine)(PEG-b-PLys)andpoly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-b-poly(asparticacid)(PNIPAM-b-PAsp)inaqueousmedium.MSMswithgradientsurfacemicro-phaseseparationwereobtainedundertemperatureabovethelowercriticalsolutiontemperature(LCST)ofPNIPAMaftercorecrosslinking.Fourentitiesofsurfacephase-separatedMSMswithgradienthydrophilictity/hydrophobicity,ofwhichtheweightratioofPEGsegmenttoPNIPAMsegment(WPEG/WPNIPAM)were10/0,7/3,5/5,and3/7respectively(MSMs-0,MSMs-30,MSMs-50,andMSMs-70forshort),wereobtainedbythevariationoftherelativeamountofthetwoblockcopolymers.ComparedwithsolePEGylationmicelles,theMSMswithmicro-phaseseparatedsurfaceexhibitedhighlyimprovedbiologicalbehaviorsandrationalsurfacemicro-phaseseparationwereprovedtobesignificantlyefficientwithreducedaccumulationinliverandspleenandprolongedcirculationinblooddeterminedbythemethodofPositronEmissionTomography(PET)
