Poly(phenylenesulfide)(PPS)/nano-ceriumdioxide(CeO2)compositeswerepreparedbyDAKAminiatureblendinginstrument.Thenon-isothermalcrystallizationkineticsofsamplesweredetectedbyDSCatcoolingratesof2.5℃/min,5℃/min,10℃/min,15℃/min,20℃/min,25℃/min,respectively.Resultsshowedthatthepeaksofcrystallizationtemperature(Tp)movetolow-temperature,crystallizationhalf-time(t1/2)decreasewiththecoolingrateincreasing.TheTpofcompositeishigherthanwhichofneatPPSinthesamecoolingrate,nano-CeO2particlesplayaroleofnucleatingagent.Non-isothermalcrystallizationprocessesofPPSandnanocompositeareproperlydescribedbyMo’sequation.Thecoolingrateneededtogetthegivenrelativecrystallinityislowerfornanocomposite,comparedtoPPS.ThecrystallizationstyleofPPSischangedbynano-CeO2particles.
