Mechanical properties of heterocyclic aramid fiber are the highest in the family of the aramid fibers. Preparation of high molecular weight polymer is important to achieve the high performance fiber. However, it is hard to measure the molecular weight of heterocyclic aramid through gel permeation chromatography (GPC). It is usually to use inherent viscosity (ηinh) to reflect the molecular weight indirectly in industry. In this paper, rotational viscosity and falling sphere viscosity of heterocyclic aramid solution were measured. Their variation with temperature and ηinh was analyzed. Depending on Arrhenius equation, regression equations (viscosity, temperature, ηinh) were established by using multielement steps regression method, and then the experience formula of viscosity - temperature - ηinh was obtained by this way, which was useful for fiber preparation of heterocyclic aramid. |
