We have developed heat sealable, highly thermo-stable polyimide consisting of asymmetric 2, 3, 3’, 4’-oxydiphthalic ianhydride (a-ODPA) and 4, 4’ oxydianiline (4, 4’-ODA). Aromatic polyimides (PIs) such as MDA/4, 4’-ODA and s-BPDA/4, 4’-ODA have excellent thermal and environmental tability due to the planar structures in addition to their rigid chemical structures. owever, these advantages cause some limitations in applications for molding because of their insolubility and infusibility.Among many methods for improving the rocessability of aromatic polyimides, we have successfully invented that asymmetric romatic imide structures have a large potential to overcome the limitations because of unique stereo-chemical structures and rheological characteristics |
