Functional fillers can modify certain physical and chemicalproperties of materials they are mixed with by interacting with them. In general fillers can be divided into organic
and inorganic materials. There is a much larger variety of inorganic fillers. Their group of natural substances is divided into silicates (clay, silt, talc, mica), carbonates/sulfates (whiting, dolomite, barite), an oxides/hydroxides (silica flours, crystalline silica, aluminum and magnesium hydroxides as well as zinc and calcium oxides). |
