Zhongsheng Wen is a professor in the Department of Materials science and engineering, Dalian Maritime University. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and joined Prof. Paul Kohl’s group as a postdoctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She started her independent career in 2004, leading a research group focusing on electrochemical interface and reaction, material synthesis and design in metal-ion batteries. In 2006, she was nominated for Liaoning Province’s College Innovative Talent award and Liaoning Province’s "Bai Qian Wan" Talent award, and won the Excellence Award of Dalian City Women's Technology Innovation and Invention Award in 2006.
She is mainly engaged in the development and application research of energy chemistry, new energy materials, focusing on interface chemical reaction, material synthesis and property for metal-ion batteries. As the principal investigator, she has completed more than 20 research projects, including 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, and holds over 20 invention patents.
