Dr. Yi Zhang received her BS degree in organic chemistry with
distinction, from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU, China) in 1997, and Ph.D.
in chemistry and physics of polymer from SYSU in 2002 (with Professor Jiarui
Xu). Then she joined the faculty at SYSU in 2002 as an assistant professor and
associated professor in 2005. In 2009-2010, she carried out one year research
work in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a visiting scholar.
She is currently a full professor of Chemistry in SYSU. Her research interests
are mainly on the development of organic/polymeric photoelectric materials and
high-performance functional polyimide. She has totally published 150 pieces of
SCI papers in Nat Commun, Angew Chem, Chem Mater, Chem Sci and Chem Soc Rev
etc., which have been cited around 4000 times by others over the past five
years, and 10 of them are ESI Highly Cited Papers. She has obtained 28 items of
authorized Chinese national invention patents, and given 26 times of invited
reports on academic conferences at home and abroad. She has been
awarded Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talents of Guangdong
Province in 2016 and Scientific and technological Innovation Leading talents among Middle-aged and Young people in the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2018.
