Zhaoliang Cui majored on polymer materials and
engineering in College of Chemical and environmental Engineering in Hubei
University of Technology in China from Sep. 2000 to Jun. 2004, and received
bachelor degree of engineering. He studied with Prof. Duanji Wan on the
purification and concentration of extraction liquids of Chinese herb medicine
using integrated membrane technology, and received master degree of engineering.
During the master study, he researched on the clean production and
comprehensive utilization of glycyrrhiza. The achievements were industrialized.
He and his dissertation were awarded to be outstanding graduate and outstanding
dissertation, respectively. Meanwhile, in Membrane Technology Research Center
of Hubei University of Technology, he assisted the managers and engineers to
optimize the technologies treating waste water from turmeric, soybean
production, and the extraction liquid of tea and artemisinin. In addition, he
led undergraduate students to attend a practical training in a waste water
treatment plant in Changsha.
From
Sep. 2007 to Jun. 2011, in the State Key Laboratory of Materials-Oriented
Chemical Engineering, and the Membrane Science & Technology Research
Center, in Nanjing University of Technology, Zhaoliang Cui researched on membrane
water treatment with Prof. Yiqun Fan and Prof. Nanping Xu. Then, he received
doctoral degree on materials-oriented chemical engineering. During doctoral
study, he attended the Chinese 863 Project ‘Preparation and industrialization
of low-cost ceramic MF/UF membrane’ (2007AA030303). He introduced the critical
flux theory into the pre-treatment process for seawater desalination to
optimize the conditions and parameters. Additionally, he designed the
laboratory scale and pilot scale equipment, and conducted the experiment
studies, based on which, he led a team designing and producing a demonstration
project with pre-treatment of seawater desalination with a capacity of 2000 m3/d
for a Chinese 863 Plan. Then he led the team constructing and debugging the
equipment in Shengsi Seawater Desalination Plant. Meanwhile, he assumed the
industrialization projects in Nanjing Jiusi High-tech Co., Ltd., and was
awarded for three times.
From
Sep. 2011 to Aug. 2013, he worked as a Post-Doc Fellow with Prof. Young Moo Lee
and Prof. Enrico Drioli, in WCU department of Energy Engineering, and became a
Research Assistant Professor from Sep. 2013, in Hanyang University, Korea. He
focused on the polymeric membrane preparations and applications in water
treatment. He developed serious environmental friendly diluents, with which,
the fabricated flat sheet and hollow fiber PVDF membranes presented promising
properties and performances in MF/UF and membrane distillation. The
achievements are being applied to be patents.
Recently, he has published two patents and about 10 papers, of which the
total impact factor is up to 35.289. He has attended the international
conferences for 6 times, and given 3 oral presentations and 3 poster
presentations. Now, he is the invited reviewer of journals related to membrane
science and water treatment such as Journal
of Membrane Science, Membrane Water
Treatment. Additionally, he was invited to attend the writing of the Encyclopedia of Membranes.
