Youhua Tao is an experimental chemist interested in polymer chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 2008. After a postdoctoral stay with Prof. Masami Kamigaito at Nagoya University in Japan, he moved to University of Colorado at Boulder and joined Prof. Christopher N. Bowman as a postdoc towards on the development of new photo-click polymerization methods and mechanism investigation. Then he moved to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Paul L.Foster School of Medicine, working as a postdoctoral research associate. In June 2013, he accepted a full professor appointment at Chang Chun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy Of Sciences (CIAC). His current research mainly focuses on the precision synthesis of amino-acid based polymers, including the control of its molecular weight, stereo-structure, sequence and topology structure.
