A coreduction method allows high-quality colloidal InP nanocrystals to be synthesized by using PCl3 as the phosphorus source and superhydride as the reducing agent. Etching the as-grown nanocrystals with HF leads to high-efficiency photoluminescence. The synthetic strategy can be extended to the preparation of other III–V nanocrystals with the corresponding pnicogen halides.
