Wendong Liu was born in 1987, Jiutai District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, China. He received his B.S. degree in 2012 in Chemistry and Biotechnology,College of life sciences, Jilin University. And then he start to did his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Bai Yang at Jilin University. He defended his PhD thesis about fabrication of ordered micro/nanostructures for controllable adhesion in June 2017. Then he went to Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer research in Mainz as a postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Jürgen Butt and Dr. Michael Kappl. His research interests relate to the fabrication of patterned surfaces with multiple functions; exploring the effect of the 2D, 3D patterned surfaces on cell adhesion and other behaviours; design and preparation of visual biosensors; preparing suprawetting and anisotropic wetting surfaces for liquid delivery. Up to date, he has published 31 research articles and 2 reviews (including 9 first author articles), and he also contributed 2 chapters for scientific books.
