Prof. Jianxin Geng received his PhD title from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in 2004. After graduation, he joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a lecturer. From 2005 to2011, he worked as postdoctoral researcher and research assistant professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Western Kentucky University, and the University of Texas at Austin. In 2011, he joined Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, CAS, as associate professor. In 2012, he was promoted to professor. In 2018, he joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology. In 2021, he joined Tiangong University.
He received a number of awards and honors. In 2012, he received the support of the CAS “Hundred Talents Program”. In 2015, he was awarded the “Leading Talents for Technological Innovation” by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People''s Republic China. In 2016, he received “excellent” rating in the final review of the CAS “Hundred Talents Program”. In 2017, he was awarded with the “National High Level Talents Special Support Plan” of China. He has more than 90 peer-viewed papers published in highly prestigious journals including Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc.,and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.. He has applied for more than 14 Chinese patents and 1 PCT patent and 9 of the Chinese patents are granted. He has 1 book chapter published by ACS. His research interests includepolymer science, carbon nanomaterials, and electrochemical energy storage.
