brief introduction:
Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials and their composites as electrode materials for contemporary energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and rechargeable batteries offer opportunities for clean and sustainable energy demands. The compositions and structures of these electrode materials play significant roles in determining the performance of energy storage devices. In this context and on the basis of typical 2D nanomaterials (including graphene, 2D transition metal oxides, 2D transition metal dichalcogenides, and MXenes), the present chapter will highlight the rational designs of 2D electrode materials for high-performance energy storage devices. In addition, the revelations and illustrations for storage mechanisms are discussed at the atomic, nanoscale, and microscale levels for the different 2D nanomaterial electrodes.
