217. Electrospun polymer nanofiber membrane electrodes and an electrolyte for highly flexible and foldable all-solid-state supercapacitors.
A sandwiched symmetric all-solid-state supercapacitor consisting of flexible electrospun polyaniline (PANI)/carbonized polyimide (CPI) nanocomposite membrane electrodes and a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) nanofiber membrane-reinforced PVA/H3PO4 gel separator has been successfully fabricated. Needle-like PANI nanoparticles are vertically formed on the high electrically conducti...

Facile Fabrication of pH-Responsive and Size-Controllable Polymer Vesicles From a Commercially Available Hyperbranched Polyester
A
novel pH-responsive polymer vesicle obtained by the aqueous
self-assembly of carboxy-terminated hyperbranched polyesters is
reported. The synthesis is very simple, just a one-step esterification
of the commercially available hydroxy-terminated hyperbranched polyester
of Boltorn Hx (x?=?20, 30, 40) with succinic
anhydride. The vesicle size can be controlled from 200 nm to 10 μm by...

Enhanced Gene Transfection Efficiency of PDMAEMA by Incorporating Hydrophobic Hyperbranched Polymer Cores: Effect of Degree of Branching
Poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl
methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) is a well-known cationic polymer candidate for non-viral
vectors for gene transfection. However, such an application has been greatly
limited due to the cytotoxicity of the polymers. Herein, PDMAEMAs are grafted
from hydrophobic hyperbranched PEHO cores (PEHO means
poly(3-ethyl-3-(hydroxymethyl)-oxetane)), and the obtained hy...

Polymerization-like Multilevel Hierarchical Self-Assembly of Polymer Vesicles into Macroscopic Superstructures with Controlled Complexity
We demonstrate a high-leveled hierarchical self-assembly process into
fractal structures. Two hyperbranched multiarm copolymers are first
coassembled into binary isotropic vesicles in the primary self-assembly.
Then, these primary vesicles are in situ endowed with anisotropic
hydrophobic “binding sites” through a pH-induced lateral microphase
separation, undergoing an isotropic?...

A Supramolecular Janus Hyperbranched Polymer and Its Photoresponsive Self-Assembly of Vesicles with Narrow Size Distribution
Herein, we report a novel Janus
particle and supramolecular block copolymer consisting of two chemically
distinct hyperbranched polymers, which is coined as Janus hyperbranched polymer.
It is constructed by the noncovalent coupling between a hydrophobic
hyperbranched poly(3-ethyl-3-oxetanemethanol) with an apex of an azobenzene
(AZO) group and a hydrophilic hyperbranched polyglycerol w...

Temperature-Responsive Phase Transition of Polymer Vesicles: Real-Time Morphology Observation and Molecular Mechanism
Novel thermosensitive polymer vesicles with controlled temperature-responsive phase transition at the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) varying from 8 to 81 °C were prepared via self-assembly of amphiphilic hyperbranched star copolymers having a hydrophobic hyperbranched poly[3-ethyl-3-(hydroxymethyl)oxetane] (HBPO) core and many hydrophilic polyethylene oxide (PEO) arms. Real-time optic...

Parallel carbon nanotube stripes in polymer thin film with tunable microstructures and anisotropic conductive properties
It is known that shear-flow can induce units to assemble into vorticity-aligned stripe-structures in confined
geometries. This study shows that the microstructure and the property of the stripe in polymer thin
film can be well tuned by adjusting the viscosity ratio between dispersed phase and continuous phase.
Polypropylene (PP)/poly(styrene–ethylene/butadiene–styrene) (SEBS)/octadecylamine func...

Hollow Double-Layered Polymer Microspheres with pH and Thermo-Responsive Properties as Nitric Oxide-Releasing Reservoirs
Nitric
oxide-releasing hollow double-layered polymer microspheres (HDPMs) with both
pH- and thermo-responsive properties in aqueous media are designed and prepared
by a multi-step process. Silica/polymer (SiO2/P(bocAmEMA-co-EGDMA)) core-shell microspheres with boc-protected
secondary amino groups are synthesized by distillation precipitation copolymerization
of 2-(ethyl(boc)amino)ethyl methac...

[Chem. Commun.] A supramolecular hyperbranched polymer based on molecular recognition between benzo-21-crown-7 and secondary ammonium salt
A novel A2-B3-type supramolecular hyperbranched polymer was prepared based on the benzo-21-crown-7/secondary ammonium salt recognition motif. The resulting supramolecular polymer exhibited a reversible disassembled–assembled process by adding or removing potassium ions.
