【简介】 The main emphasis of the Chemistry and Chemical Biology Library collection is primary literature published in journals. In addition, the library collects graduate textbooks, monographs and serials in the fields of inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, organic and bioorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology and some material in the fields of molecular biology, physics, and surface science.
The first chemistry collection was part of a general science library located in Boylston Hall in the 1890's. The chemistry material was transferred to its present location in the Converse Memorial Laboratory in 1927, with the main reading room built and equipped by Mrs. Gould as a memorial to her husband, Frederick Saltonstall Gould, Harvard Class of 1875. Additional space was added in 1962.
