【组织简介】 The Society for Mucosal Immunology includes more than 700 members from 37 countries. There is approximately an equal representation of clinician-scientists and basic scientists comprised of immunologists, physicians, dentists, veterinarians, biochemists and others interested in the immunology of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and urogential tracts as well as the eye. Areas of research interest include the pathogenesis of mucosal inflammation such as inflammatory bowel disease, oral vaccination, the immunology of breast milk, oral tolerance - in particular as it is applied as a treatment for autoimmune diseases, vaccines for birth control as well as the immunobiology of infections such as HIV, respiratory syntial virus, influenza, rotavirus, Helicobacter pylori and many others.
Membership in the Society entitles one to a free subscription to Mucosal Immunology Update, various member services and discounts on registration for any International Congress of Mucosal Immunology sponsored by the Society.
There is one type of Membership that is open to all scientists with an interest in mucosal immunology and who participate actively in this field.
