SRI International is a pioneer in the creation and application of innovative solutions for businesses, governments, and other organizations.
SRI International was founded in 1946 as Stanford Research Institute by Stanford University and West Coast business leaders. It moved from Stanford University in Palo Alto to its current location in Menlo Park in 1947, and became independent from Stanford University in 1970. It was renamed to SRI international in 1977. Sarnoff Corporation (then known as RCA Laboratories) became a subsidiary of SRI in 1987.
SRI International now has 1,400 staff members worldwide, 1,200 at main campus, among them 700 hold advanced degrees.
