Paris, July 28th 2010. JEC has announced that the agenda has been set for the 2010 1st I.I.C.S (Innovative International Composites Summit), which will take place from October 12/14 at Suntec Singapore.
One of JEC’s missions is to inform, educate and promote composites solutions worldwide with a full range of seminars, conferences, forums, technical sales presentations and workshops.
The 1st I.I.C.S (Innovative International Composites Summit) will explore all application sectors in order to provide high-quality end-users, cross-industries, technical, economic, legal conferences and forums to all players in the composite industry.
I.I.C.S (Innovative International Composites Summit) programs unveil new composite applications and trends, and encourage dialogue between industrialists and end-users. They are based on case studies and talks from internationally-renowned specialists with research, design, engineering and manufacturing backgrounds. I.I.C.S 2010 will outline the composite materials’ contribution for a sustainable growth in Asia.
A decade of sustained growth, a billion plus population and the rapid urbanization in Asia has placed huge strains on infrastructure in the region. Asian countries will need to spend in excess of US$ 600 billion per annum to address the "life critical" overhaul and new development.  The world’s energy needs will be almost 60 % higher in 2030 than they are now and China, India and other rapidly developing economies, will account for almost half the energy consumption by 2030. Market
will also need 31,000 new planes by 2029 and as a result of the growth in the Asia-Pacific region, almost 43 percent of all traffic will be to, from, or within the region. Asia has the most highly populated urban agglomerations in the world. How to keep these 12 to 37 million megacities inhabitants moving in the future with friendly vehicles.
With the fast pace of growth in Asia, there is a strong demand for leading-edge composite applications across all industries. Composites in Asia Pacific will more than double by 2015 and it will be around half of global consumption.
The challenge for the composite industry is improving productivity, achieving cost reduction, with higher product quality while at the same time reducing the environmental impact.

This I.I.C.S 3 days eventful program is comprising 8 conferences and forums. These conferences and forums will bring together about 100 papers from 15 nationalities with very prestigious confirmed names, such as:
  • Gamesa Innovation and Technology, Kuka Robot Group GmbH, Petronas Gas Berhad, Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd, just to name a few companies,
  • Hanoi University of Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI), National University of Singapore (NUS), Stanford University, just to name a few Universities and Research Centers…
  • Chinese Composites Industry Association, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Malaysian Timber Industry Board, Strata Mubadala Development Company (UAE), just to name a few institutions….
JEC Composites, which promotes the use of composite materials worldwide, informs and connects 250,000 composite professionals, offering them a comprehensive service package: the JEC publications – including strategic studies, technical books and the JEC Composites Magazine – the JEC Composites weekly international e-letter and the French e-letter JEC Info Composites, the JEC Composites Show in Paris (world and European leader), the JEC Composites Asia Event, the www.jeccomposites.com website, the JEC Composites Forums and Workshops, and the JEC Innovation Awards Programme.
