MAPEI Expands Operations with New Site in Mexico

MAPEI announced the opening of a regional distribution center in Mexico to serve floor-covering installers and concrete-restoration contractors.

The company, a manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and other chemical products for building and construction, opened MAPEI de Mexico SA de CV, with headquarters in Santiago de Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico.

The company, which also operates manufacturing facilities in Venezuela and Argentina, sees “a strong, lucrative market in Mexico, with a great deal of potential for our products,” said Luigi Di Geso, president and CEO of MAPEI Americas. “We feel that this distribution center will show our commitment to the market and provide a solid stepping stone to our company’s future in Latin America.”

Robert Ash Jr., a sales representative who has sold MAPEI products in the Latin American market for the past 13 years, was named sales director for Mexico.

The company said it will stock all of its product lines in Queretaro, with an emphasis on Concrete Restoration Systems and Underground Tunneling Technology products. Other key products will include Tile & Stone Installation Systems and Floor Covering Installation Systems for residential and commercial construction projects.

MAPEI Group is a major producer of adhesives and complementary products for the installation of all types of floor and wall coverings, and makes waterproofing products, special mortars and admixtures for concrete, products for the restoration of historic buildings, and specialized decorative and protective coatings for walls.
