In this study, Polyamide 6 (PA6), halogen-free flame retardants Melamine Cyanurate (MCA) and M102B (Cyclic phosphate compounds) were used to prepare flame retardant PA6 (FR-PA6) through melt blending. The morphology and properties of FR-PA6 resins were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and the limiting oxygen index(LOI) approach, respectively. The well-dispersed MCA particles in PA6 matrix were shown in SEM images. The thermal analysis results indicated that the crystallization behavior and the thermal stability of FR-PA6 were both changed with the addition of flame retardants (FRs) compared with pure PA6. The LOI results showed that the FR-PA6 composites obviously improved flame retardancy. The FR-PA6 fiber was prepared through melt spinning process. The spinnability and tensile properties of FR-PA6 fiber could be affected greatly by the loading of FRs. |
