Microfibrillar blends (MFBs) with reinforcing fibrils built of bundles of flexible, organic macro-molecules are a new class of fiber reinforced composites. The manufacture of MFBs provides a promising route to enhance properties of general thermoplastics (e.g., LDPE, HDPE, and PP) using engineering thermoplastics (e.g., PET, polyamide, polycarbonates, and polybutylene terephthalate). |
