Hybrid silica nanotubes with chiral aromatic rings in the walls were prepared using self-assemblies of a low molecular weight amphiphile as a template; transmission electron microscopy images of the nanotubes at different formation steps showed that the co-tructuredirecting agent plays an important role in this chiral transfer.
