A simple fluorescent molecular CPDB with excitation-wavelength-dependent
emission resulting from dynamic protonation in aqueous solution under acidic
conditions is synthesized. A hierarchical supramolecular self-assembly system with
controllable morphology has been accomplished, including 1D worm-like
nanoribbons, 2D rectangular nanoplates, and 3D microscale polyhedrons, through
different host-guest complexation modes between CPDB and cucurbit[8]uril at
different binding ratios, which can be applied to secondary encryption.
