The 2nd EPNOE Polysaccrides Internatinal Confenrence was held in Wageningen, Netherlands, from August 29th to September 2nd.Our group member Ph.D student Shanshan Zang has taken part in it, and finished the poster section of “Study of ordered BC/CNTs composites as tissue-engineered nerve scaffold”

        The conference was sponsored by EPNOE, the 16 members of which assigned their representitives to the conference, and more than 200 professors and Ph.D students also took part in it.Moreover, some enterprises R&D center such as Unilever, Akzo Nobel appeared in the meeting,too.

     The government of Netherlands attached importancce to this conference, and appointed the minister of biological industry to address. The chairman of EPNOE and the headmaster of Wageningen University introduced the development of EPNOE and the current situation of research in Wageningen University seperately.

      This conference converged many experts in the field of polysaccrides, for example professor Lina Zhang from Wuhan University, who has maken great contribution about the manufacture and modification of cellulose; professor Gatenholm from Chamber University, whose group has taken the lead in the part of tissue engineering by using bacterial cellulose.In addtion, in the plenary session, parrel session and poster session, all the achivements in the scientific researchs emerged outstanding work in basic research and application of polysaccrides.
