Dr. Aixin Yan Visited Life College of Sci. & Tech. HUST
On March 29th, 2016, Invited by Prof. Yang and Prof. Xiaoyu Zhang, Dr. Aixin Yan visited the College of Life Science and Technology of HUST, and presented an excellent speech entitled “How Signal Is Transduced Across Biological Membranes in Bacterial Heavy Metal Sensing Two Component Systems”.
Aixin Yan received her B.Sc. degree in Shanxi University and Ph. D degree in Bio-Organic Chemistry Peking University. Then she became postdoctoral fellows in Biochemistry& Cell Biology in SUNY Stony Brook, Biochemistry in Duke University Medical Center and Molecular Biology & Microbiology in University of Wisconsin-Madison, respectively. She is currently an associate professor in University of Hong Kong. Her current research interests are focusing on the regulation and physiology of facultative anaerobes during their responses to O2 deprivation. Two global regulatory systems, the global transcription factor FNR and the two component system ArcAB primarily regulates this adaptation process in many bacteria. She has published more than 30 papers in international academic journals, and participated in some published book chapters and book series.
