Dr. Qun Wang is Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University. Dr. Wang got his Ph.D. in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from University of Kansas in 2010. He got another Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Wuhan University in 2007. After that, he worked as Jorge Heller Postdoctoral Fellow in Professor Robert Langer’s Lab at MIT and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wang’s areas of interest include biomaterials, regenerative medicine, drug delivery systems, adult stem cells, nanotechnology, ‘green’ chemistry, renewable resources, and environmental engineering. His current research is sponsored by National Institute of Health and Controlled Release Society.
Dr. Qun Wang’s report is“FUNCTIONALIZED MATERIALS FOR DRUG DELIVERY AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE” The abstract is functionalized design represents a powerful strategy for developing next generation materials for numerous emerging applications, including energy, environment, pharmaceutics and biomedicine. Some of most challenging problems in the fields of medicine and healthcare can be attributed to the lack of better disease diagnosis and effective therapeutics. The latest developments in materials science, drug delivery, nanotechnology, and stem cells provide new tools for innovative solutions to these challenges.
