Name:Adi EISENBERG
Employer:McGill University
Visiting Time:13,October,2007-16,October,2007
Title of Honor: Advisory Professor
Short-term Lectures:Introduction to block copolymer self-assembly(2007-10-14)
Personal Information: Prof. Eisenberg currently is the advisory professor of College of Life Science and Technology in Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Prof. Adi Eisenberg, born in1935, was under direction of Prof.A. V. Tobolsky and received the PH.D. degree in Princeton University,1960. He was employed by Canadian McGill University,1967. He currently is Otto Maass Professor in McGill University, Fellow, Royal Soc. of Canada (FRSC) and Fellow , Amer. Phys. Soc. He was employed by our university as the advisory professor from October this year.
Prof. Adi Eisenberg is international famous scholar and has gained the outstanding achievements in the field of polymer science and has published over 400 scientific papers with far-research international impacts in some internationally renowned journals such as Chemical Society Reviews and Macromolecules(five papers in Science).
Prof.Eisenberg cooperated with Jiang Ming, Academician at Fudan University to complied “Macromolecular Self-Assembly”(Science press).Prof.Eisenberg has gone to China for several times and visited famous Universities and Institute of Research including Institute of Chemistry(Chinese Academy of Science),Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, JiLin University and Nankai University. His current research interest is the study of amphiphilic block copolymers aggregates which mainly focus on vesicle of block copolymers and block copolymers micelles in drug delivery application. Through self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers in solution, they form different nano-scale assemblies. In studies with self-assembly of polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) in aqueous media, we document spheres, rods, lamellae, vesicles and higher-order morphologies.
