Castor oil was used as raw material to prepare a new CODEA monomer by amidation reaction, and then it was combined with isophorone diisocyanate, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2, 2''-disulfide diethanol or bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) disulfide to synthesize a double-bonded prepolymer, and a self-healing film was prepared under UV conditions. The structure, thermal and mechanical properties of the prepared materials were characterized by infrared, nuclear magnetic, thermal-mechanical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and tensile test. It was found that the introduction of disulfide bond could give the material excellent self-healing properties, especially when the content of CODEA-HEDS was 12%, it showed better self-healing properties, tensile strength of 18.3 MPa, and could still withstand 500 g tension after the first repair. After multiple self-repairs, the elongation at break and tensile strength of the
cured film could still recover to 73.8% and 46.4% of the initial values. In addition, for CODEA-HPDS of the same quality, its selfhealing performance was significantly better than that of CODEA-HEDS. After multiple repairs, its elongation at break and tensile strength could be restored to 76.1% and 55.8% of the initial values. In summary, this work provided a theoretical basis for the preparation of biomass materials with excellent self-healing performance.
