主要从事天然高分子化学与物理、高分子溶液和凝胶、高分子结构和性能调控、高分子加工过程中的物理化学问题、高性能纤维方面的研究工作。主持和参加国家自然科学基金面上项目(主持5项)和创新群体项目、科技部高技术研究发展计划(863)项目(项目编号:2015AA03A204,主持)、国家重点基础研究发展计划(973)项目(骨干,项目编号:2006CB605304和2011CB605600)、中国科学院创新项目、教育部留学回国人员科研启动基金、国家分子科学中心、天津市科委、企业合作研究等项目多项。已经国际学术期刊上发表SCI收录研究论文100多篇,授权中国发明专利20余项。多次在国内外学术会议上做邀请和分会报告,出版专著1部、英文专著3章。
