At first, thanks again for you recommendation of your excellent PHD candidates for “2011 BASF Excellent PHD Prize”! Through a whole day event, which including students’ group self introduction and research work presentation in Mar. 14, we indeed saw their talent as well as inspiration for research work and life. We hope all candidates could also learned more about BASF and its innovation campus from the BASF lectures and plant & laboratories visit.

A panel team of 7 BASF management and R&D scientists evaluated all candidates’ and finally made decision of the winners after carefully selection and comparison, which based on students’ performance on professional background, innovativeness, presentation skills, English skills and team work spirit. The winners are:

First Prize
--- 4 candidates, take part in 2011 BASF international summer course in Germany in July-Aug.

         Ms. Li Mufang, Donghua University
         Mr. Fu Dongsheng, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Second Prize
--- 6 candidates, 4-8 weeks internship within BASF Shanghai this summer.

We will soon contact with all winners for related issues regarding their participate the summer course and internship.

We’d like also to thanks for the candidates who did not win the prize, they are excellent students too, and the result did not mean any negative feedback for them, maybe they can learn some experience from the event and also improve oral English and presentation skills later on, we wish they will get even better opportunities in their future work and life.  Meanwhile, we affirmed that all candidates who took part in the Prize were automatically added to BASF talent pool, we will keep a close eye on their growing up.
