In this study, Bi2MoO6/Ag/AgCl composite photocatalysts were successfully prepared by modifying Bi2MoO6 flower-like microspheres with Ag/AgCl to improve photocatalytic activity. The prepared photocatalysts were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy X-ray diffraction spectra, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller . The photocatalytic efficiency of Bi2MoO6/Ag/AgCl was evaluated by the degradation of RB-19 dye. Results indicated that Bi2MoO6/Ag/AgCl photocatalyst exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than Bi2MoO6. Simultaneously, h+ was confirmed to be the most important active species in degradation of RB-19 by free radical and hole trapping experiment, proposing a potential photocatalytic mechanism.
