we have synthesized robust graphene aerogels through in situ polymerization of AAm to reinforce graphene network structure. Although only trace amounts of PAAm were

found in the final aerogels, the mechanical properties increased by 50%–100% when compared with samples without the aid of PAAm. The new graphene aerogels possessed robust network structures that could resist the capillary force of solvent evaporation during the rigorous vacuum or air drying, which were convenient and energy saving compared with the freeze and supercritical drying processes. The robust graphene network structures also made it possible to fabricate polymers/graphene composite foams using an infiltration-air-drying-crosslinking method. In particular, the resulting ultralight x-TPI/graphene foams exhibited much improved thermotropic shape-memory performances (high compressibility, excellent fi xing ratios, and high recovering ratios) than other SMP foams. They exhibited electroinduced shape-memory with a very low actuating voltage (6–10 V) and a very short recovery time (≈8 s).
