Metallocene complexes initiated by initiators and cocatalysts produce the active
species for living free radical and coordination polymerization, respectively. It will
come true the unit of free radical and coordination polymerization in one polymer
molecule to prepare the co-polymer of aPS-b-polyolefins with functional group -OH on the chain end. It is a new concept in the field of polymer science. The effect of the
catalyst structure, the ratio of catalyst to cocatalyst, cocatalysts and polymerization
conditions on the synthesis, structure and properties of the co-polymer are
investigated. The polymerization mechanism, the relationship of the structure and
properties of the metallocene complexes, and of the structure and properties of the copolymer will be studied systematically, which will improve the novel polymerization
method and develop the novel polymer materials.
