Square and labyrinth-like titanium dioxide (TiO2) particles were successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method with assistant of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs). The morphology and microstructure of as-prepared photo-catalysts were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activity of as-prepared catalysts was evaluated by degradation of organic pollutants (rhodamine B (RhB), methylene blue (MB) and methanol) under UV light irradiation.
