Organic/inorganic hybrid hollow spheres are prepared from TiO2-stabilized Pickering emulsion polymerization. By self-organization of TiO2 nanoparticles at the interface of oil (monomer and solvent) and water, O/W colloidosomes are formed as polymerization vessels to obtain organic/inorganic hybrid hollow spheres. The diameter and mechanical stability of hybrid hollow spheres can be tailored via varying the whole amount of oil phase and the relative amount of divinylbenzene (DVB) in monomer, respectively.
