Attending XV Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry-2015 (CAC2015)

The group went to Changsha for attending the XV Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry on June 22 to 26, 2015.

Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry (CAC) is a series of international chemometrics conferences sponsored by the International Chemometrics Association. CAC is a platform for global chemical metrologist to illustrate the findings of research and communicate, which is build an important bridge of exchanging information for researchers in the field of chemometrics. The first CAC was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1978. CAC was hosted once every four years from 1978 to 2000 and every two years since 2000. Until now, CAC has been successfully held 14 times and gradually developed the medium-sized conferences with more than 200 people. The conferences were mainly hosted by countries in European and American.

This conference is the CAC series of meetings held in Asia for the first time. It was hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and organized by Central South University with Hunan University. Prof. Ruqin Yu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences from Hunan University, served as honorary chairman of the Organizing Committee for the conference. Prof. Yizeng Liang from Central South University served as chairman. Prof. Qingsong Xu from Central South University and Hailong Wu from Hunan University served as vice-chairmen. The conference lasted five days and nearly eighty foreign experts and scholars from twenty countries and many experts and scholars from China attended. It has been a total of about three hundred people participated and witnessed the event.

The group members Xihui Bian and Shujuan Li made oral report and poster at the conference entitled "High and low frequency unfolded partial least squares based on Hilbert-Huang transform for quantitatively and qualitatively analysis of complex samples" and "Variable space boosting PLS for near-infrared spectroscopy modeling .", respectively.
