A strong and highly stretchable supramolecular hydrogel with a shear modulus of 200 kPa, an elongation at break of 770% at 4 MPa stress and a water-responsive shape-memory property is developed. The whole shape-memory procedure including shape deformation, fixing
and recovery can be realized under mild and green conditions, i.e. in air and water.
