(Langmuir )Amphiphilic Polymer Micellar Disruption Based on Main-Chain Photodegradation
The amphiphilic block copolymer poly(ethyleneoxide)-b-poly(N,N′-dihydroxypyromellitimide-hexamethylene diisocyanate)(PEO-b-PNH) with photocleavable N?O urethanes hasbeen prepared to investigate the photodegradation of the hydrophobicmain chain and therefore the disruption of copolymermicelles. Measurements of absorption and emission spectra, opticaltransmittance, DLS analysis, and TEM observati...

Carbonization temperature controlled thermal conductivity of graphitic carbon nanoparticles and their polymer composites
Carbon materials as versatile fillers have drawn increasing attention in thermal conductive polymer composites, however, the thermal conductivity (TC) regulation of them remains challenging. Herein, the tunable lattice thermal conductivity is reported for glucose derived graphitic carbon nanoparticles (GCPs) and their polymer composites. Both the in-plane (La) and out-of-plane (Lc) coherence len...

Silkworm cocoons by cylinders self-assembled from H-shaped alternating polymer brushes
We report a novel silkworm cocoon-like nanostructure based on the 3D hierarchical self-assembly of cylinders which are spontaneously formed by an H-shaped polymer brush comprising a disulfide-bridged spacer and two brushes with alternating PEG and PCL side chains. Crystalline of PCL between adjacent cylinders bridges cylinders.

Self-assembled nanostructures from amphiphilic globular protein–polymer hybrids
Amphiphilic globular protein–polymer hybrids consist of PMMA as hydrophobic tail and globular protein BSA as hydrophilic head. Amphiphilic globular protein–polymer hybrids self-assembled into micelles or vesicles in phosphate buffer saline. The self-assembled morphology of amphiphilic protein–polymer hybrids was controlled by adjusting the length of hydrophobic chains.

pH-Sensitive Zwitterionic Polymer as an Antimicrobial Agent with Effective Bacterial Targeting
It is highly desirable to develop new and more potent biocompatible antimicrobial agents to reduce the increasing risk of bacterial infection worldwide. To address this problem, we prepared a smart pH-sensitive polymer, poly(N′-citraconyl-2-(3-aminopropyl-N,N-dimethylammonium)ethyl methacrylate), or P(CitAPDMAEMA), which can undergo change in functionality from a biocompatible zwitterionic polyme...

Borinic Acid Polymer: Simplified Synthesis and Enzymatic Biofuel Cell Application
A simplified one-pot and less harmful method has been introduced for the synthesis of borinic
acid monomer. The corresponding borinic acid polymer (PBA) has been prepared by reversible
addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization.Property investigations confirm the characteristics of PBA as a new type of “smart material” in the field of thermo-responsive
polymer. The potential...

30. Supramolecular Polymer Nanocomposites Derived from Plant Oils and Cellulose Nanocrystals
Abstract
Sustainable functional materials derived from renewable biomass provide momentum for the communities of polymer science. We report a supramolecular approach to the preparation of strong biobased polymer nanocomposites with stimuli-responsive behaviors using soybean oil (SO) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs). SO-derived polymers were modified with hydroxyl –O...

[Chem. Eur. J.] Controlled Growth of Metal-Organic Frameworks on Polymer Brushes
Polymer brushes are for the first time used to induce the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The semi-fixed polymer chains provide a confined environment,
which allows a mild growth of MOFs in between polymer chains to give surface-attached spherical MOF nanoparticles, in contrast to the larger MOF cubes/plates formed simultaneously in solution. Polymer brushes bearing carboxylate ...
