STUDIES ON THE INTERACTION OF DNA AND WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER-SUPPORTEDSCHIFF BASE COMPLEX
The modes and activities of the interaction of DNA and water-soluble polymer
supported Schiff base nickel complex, which has been prepared by copolymerization,
have been discussed according to the fluorescent probe method. It
indicates that the polymer matrix effect and increasing solubility in water can
increase the interaction of this polymer metal complex with DNA.tr

Preparation and catalytic oxidation by polymer supported 4-(2-pyridylazo) rosorcinol–metal complexes
Polymer-supported 4-(2-pyridylazo) rosorcinol–metal complexes (PS-PAR-M, M=Cu, Co, Ni, Fe) were prepared and characterized by IR, ICP, XPS, and used in the oxidation of ethylbenzene as catalyst. In comparison with their catalytic activities, PS-PAR-Cu was a more effective catalyst for the oxidation of ethylbenzene without solvent. The influences of reaction temperature, the amount of catalys...

Synthesis and Catalytic Oxidation Properties of Polymer-Bound Cobalt Complexes
Polymer-bound 2,29-bipyridine cobalt complexes PSBPY-Co, PSBPY-Cobipy,
PSBPY-Co-oxine, and PSBPY-Co-phen (where PSBPY: polystyrene bound-2,29-
bipyridine; bipy: 2,29-bipyridine; phen: 1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesized and
investigated by IR, X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy, thermogravimetry–differential
thermal analysis, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, and e...

[Advanced Materials] Fabrication of Micro-Patterned Stimulus-Responsive Polymer Brush ‘Anemones’
<!--[endif]-->
We present a simple strategy to fabricate stimulus-responsive patterned pNIPAAM brush microstructures (‘anemones’). Our approach relies on the combination of three phenomena: (1) the unusual phase separation of two differently functionalized alkanethiols on the stamp surface or during ink transfer in mCP on the substrate surface, (2) the preferred deposition of the ...

[JMC] Glucose-Responsive Polymer Brushes for Micro-cantilever Sensing
Glucose responsive polymer brushes were synthesized on gold substrates and microcantilever arrays. The response properties of these brushes were evaluated by exposing them to different glucose concentrations for a range of pH values. This work demonstrates the potential for polymer brush-functionalized micromechanical cantilevers as glucose detectors. Furthermore, the work demonstrates that stim...

A Rigid, Chiral Dendronized Polymer with a Thermally Stable, Right-Handed Helical Conformation
First- and second-generation dendronized polymethacrylates PG1 and PG2 carrying chiral 4-aminoproline-based dendrons were obtained on the half-gram scale in high molar masses (by spontaneous (radical) polymerization of the corresponding vinyl macromonomers. NMR spectroscopic studies on PG2 together with its unprecedented high glass transition temperature (Tg>200 8C, decomp) and structural param...

Tuning Polymer Thickness: Synthesis and Scaling Theory of Homologous Series of Dendronized Polymers
The thickness of dendronized polymers can be tuned by varying their generation g and the dendron functionality X. Systematic studies of this effect require (i) synthetic ability to produce large samples of high quality polymers with systematic variation of g, X and of the backbone polymerization degree N, (ii) a theoretical model relating the solvent swollen polymer diameter, r, and persistence le...
